ISLAND PARK PAVILION

The City of South Bend commissioned the architects to design a unique, permanent outdoor pavilion that would embody the many aspects of future downtown riverfront development, and compliment the architecture of the landmark Century Center. Made up of four hyper-parabolic forms, the roof covers nearly 6,400 square feet. The shape enhances the feeling of openness and the experiential pleasure of being on the island. The roof membrane not only shields guests from the elements, but also deflects solar energy and emits low levels of heat.
