The desire to optimize staff efficiency, through improved sight lines and more ergonomic workflow, was among the goals for the design of this new 24,000-square foot branch library. Clearly defined and secure public-use spaces also helped the library administration to streamline operations. The experience of library patrons was enhanced by the creation of several innovative amenities, including: a stone fireplace near the adult reading area, a cafe which opens onto a landscaped patio, natural light streaming in from all sides via clearstory windows, and a whimsically-themed children’s area.
