MENDOZA COLLEGE OF BUSINESS SPACE REUSE PLAN

The completion of a new, freestanding building for Executive Education at the University of Notre Dame created an opportunity for a major spatial reorganization within the Mendoza College of Business. The architects led a comprehensive process, which explored the space needs for each of the four undergraduate departments, three graduate programs and seven academic centers comprising the college. Input was obtained from over 60 individual faculty, staff and student stakeholders during programming interviews which took place over the course of two months. A total of eight broad scope objectives were identified; and multiple options for addressing each were presented for consideration by the administration. The final report defined an initial construction project which satisfied the most urgent priorities while corresponding to the available funding.
