    HERITAGE PLACE AT LASALLE SQUARE
    The Sterling Group selected a former shopping center site on the city’s far west side for the infill development of this 72-unit affordable senior apartment community. Construction of the $7.5 million building was completed in only ten months, with the first residents moving in earlier on a phased schedule. The South Bend Department of Community Investment recognized the value of the project to the surrounding neighborhood and agreed to lend its support through land acquisition and infrastructure improvements.
