RESPECT

If the philosophy of Alliance Architects had to be summarized in a single word, it would definitely be “Respect”. Respect for People … Respect for Place. This sentiment would also extend to certain factors which potentially make or break a client’s overall experience: Respect for Tradition … Respect for Budget.

The Alliance team includes architects, structural engineers, M/E/P engineers and interior designers. The firm is organized as a studio model, with the principals leading each studio. The process is collaboration. The design goal is appropriateness.

An organization’s basic values are often revealed by considering how its staff members invest their time outside of the office. Several Alliance people volunteer for professional associations, such as AIA Northern Indiana, ASHRAE, ASCE and the Indiana Board of Registration for Architects. Others serve on state and municipal boards, including the Federal Home Loan Bank Advisory Council, South Bend Design Review Appeals Committee and Volunteers in Police Service.

Many support community-wide initiatives like Habitat for Humanity, Young Professionals Network, Rotary Club and Michiana Down Syndrome Advocacy Group. Seven members of the firm are graduates of Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka and have personally adopted the program’s servant leader model.

It is also significant to note that many of our professional staff have served on building committees for their places of worship.

Beyond supporting service organizations, Alliance team members participate in an incredibly rich variety of activities. These include: playing golf, playing tennis, playing music, biking, running, mountaineering, rowing, coaching youth sports, photography, making movies, painting watercolors, home brewing beer, cooking, restoring houses, playing fantasy football, playing the lottery, talking about fantasy football and the lottery, and so on. The key is that each person is able to find an appropriate work/life balance.

The following images are intended to convey some sense of daily “Life at Alliance”. We hope that you will enjoy viewing these snapshots.
