Alliance Architects was awarded the commission for the Studebaker National Museum as the result of a design competition which drew entries from throughout the Midwest.  Among the challenges we faced was to design museum quality, on a tight urban site, for a construction budget of less than $100 per square foot!  The South Bend Tribune praised the building with the following editorial comment:

“The reopening of the Studebaker National Museum, in its new digs at the corner of Chapin and Thomas Streets, is an occasion to celebrate.  It is a stunning facility – one that everyone should see in person in order to truly appreciate the planning and effort that went into this project.”

Similar outcomes have been enjoyed by many of our institutional clients, including:  the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County Public Library, Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend, and Century Center.
